Submission deadline extended by 22nd December 2022

The International Association of University Libraries (IATUL) invites proposals for papers for the 43rd Annual IATUL Conference in the United Arab Emirates, 13-16 March 2023. Papers are invited on the following theme: "Libraries Pushing Boundaries"

The submission deadline has been extended by 22nd December 2022!

Proposals should align with the following tracks:

• Vision, Leadership and Professional Growth
   o Highlighting value and quality, strategic partnership and collaboration, leading and transforming, work environments -
      problems and solutions

• Digital and Service Delivery
   o Users as co-creators of services and spaces, spaces for discovery, AI and robots in the library, discovery services and
      systems, marketing for maximum returns

• Developing Capable Citizens
   o Information and digital literacies, student success pathways, employability and career support, sustainability initiatives

• Impact and Surfacing Research

IATUL Conference 2023
Travel Grants

To encourage global participation the IATUL Travel Grant Programme provides financial assistance to library and/or information professionals from developing countries to attend the annual IATUL Conference.

IATUL Travel Grants will be awarded to first-time attendees of this conference. Applications are encouraged from librarians at any institution that is an IATUL member or would qualify for IATUL membership. When applying for a Travel Grant, please remember that English is the official language of the organization and its annual conference.

42nd Annual Conference 2022
IATUL 2022 Conference Miami

The 42nd IATUL Annual Conference was held June 12-16, 2022 on the campus of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. The theme was “Weaving our Future: Creativity – Innovation – Transformation.”

Co-hosted by Florida International University and the University of Miami, this was the first IATUL conference held in a hybrid in-person/virtual format. The Miami conference was only the seventh IATUL conference held in the Western Hemisphere. The conference attracted 150 university library leaders from 26 countries spanning Africa, the Americas, Asia (including Oceania), Europe and the Middle East.

Proceedings of the conference – including paper and poster presentations – are now available in the IATUL repository.

Recordings of the keynote and plenary addresses – along with paper and poster presentations – are available on IATUL’s Youtube channel.

This conference will offer attendees the opportunity to reconnect, re-engage, share ideas with and learn from colleagues and friends from around the world. For the first time since 2019, the IATUL Annual Conference will be held fully in-person.

«Scholarly Communication – exciting perspectives and networking»

"Breaking new ground: scholarly communication and libraries" - this is the title of the IATUL Fall Seminar 2022 to be held at the ETH Library in Zurich from 13 to 15 December 2022.

Over two days, international speakers representing libraries, publishers and the scientific community will shed light on current developments and challenges in the areas of scholarly communication, “metrics” and awareness in science. On day three, a study tour will provide a range of opportunities to learn more about Swiss libraries and the country in general.
