The One World Library Programme is IATUL’s current strategic programme, which aims to enable IATUL member librarians to meet tomorrow’s demands by implementing efficient library processes and quality services in a changing environment. Workshops and seminars such as Leadership Academies or Directors’ Summits are utilised to assess the local situation with the goal of implementing appropriate initiatives and making a difference for libraries in specific regions of the world. The Programme is designed to empower library leaders by sharing knowledge about best practices and innovative approaches to challenges with their colleagues in other countries. Third tier education is the future destination of many investments, and the expanding higher education sector requires sustained support from strong library leadership.
