45th IATUL Conference
The programme was developed with the theme of Exploring Library Futures: Connection, Innovation and Impact.
Thank you to everyone who made the IATUL conference 2025 in vibrant and exciting Shanghai possible — It was a truly unique experience!
The 45th IATUL Annual Conference was held Nov 2 - 6, 2025 at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Library in Shanghai, China, under the motto “ Exploring the future of Libraries: Connection, Innovation and Impact.”
The conference wan not only a showcase for the development and achievement of China’s academic libraries, but an opportunity for the global library community to exchange experiences and make progress together. This aim was achieved by:
• Discussing the future of libraries and share the Chinese experiences
• Providing a platform for exchange and communication
• Providing opportunities to inspire innovation in the age of artificial intelligence.
Our conference was the first IATUL conference held in Asia since 2012 and attracted more than 200 university library leaders from 18 countries all over the world.
